A Smörgåsbord of Theatre Well, 2009 was a varied year, as always. I played The Beast in Beauty & The Beast for Winchester Theatre Royal, aged up to play Gonzalo in an experimental production of The Tempest at Central School of Speech & Drama, renewed my Stage Combat certification (watch a rehearsal for this here), played Gosforth & Mr Pearce in Ayckbourn's Confusions, at the Union Theatre, Southwark, took part in a rehearsed reading of a 19th Century play for the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds, recorded a voice-over for the Disasters Emergency Committee's Indonesia, Philippines & Vietnam appeal, and finished the year playing The Ratfather (aka 'King Rat') in The Broadway Theatre, Barking's production of Dick Whittington. |
